The Group which was formed in 2018, by three Belfast entrepreneurs, has said that all 190 staff will be coming off furlough with the cost of re-opening being in excess of £200,000.

With a strong track record in regenerating and transforming popular but neglected venues in areas of low footfall including Henry’s and the Jailhouse and Margot’s, the Group has further invested in innovative and atmosphere outdoor spaces in line with COVID restrictions. These include the Bone Yard off Bedford street and White’s Garden, adjacent to the historic White’s Tavern off High Street.

The Group has said that it will have strict procedures in place, including all tables being pre booked throughout its venues, but it also added that it is confident that people can have a good Christmas by enjoying what Belfast has to offer in safe and secure environment.

Director, Mark Beirne, said: “With Christmas nearly upon us and news emerging about the roll out of the vaccine, there is finally light at the tunnel for our city and for all of society. It has been a very challenging time for everyone not least our industry, however as we approach the lifting of the restrictions on the 11th we would urge people not to be complacent and adhere to social distancing restrictions. Our approach to re-opening has been robust and we are have strict procedures in place which can ensure people have a great Christmas but in a safe and secure way. The city centre is the lifeblood of Belfast and we know that to breathe life back into our streets supporting our café, restaurant and bar culture that it is incumbent upon us, in the trade, to deliver re-opening in a way that protects public health. That is why we are prepared, are ready and have invested significantly for our operations to re-emerge on the 11th.”
