Full speed ahead with the Blaney group

From small beginnings in Ballymena, Co Antrim in 1993, Blaney Group has managed to beat the trend and prove that local design, innovation, and manufacturing have the ability to compete with international players.

Now Blaney are taking the next step in business growth to become a significant employer in the local community through its engineering based divisions including Quad-X, Blaney Agri, Blaney Gears and the launch of Blaney Motor.

As the first quad bike manufacturer in Europe, the experience Blaney gained in designing and building their own off-highway vehicle provided them with valuable insights that some other manufacturers lack. They practically invented the commercialisation of ATVs (All Terrain Vehicles), with the vast range of Quad-X attachments that supercharged the potential of these often overlooked vehicles. During development of these attachments they made several technological innovations, including learning how to get more power from a smaller machine. These innovations helped greatly when their operations scaled up to produce larger tractor machinery enabling Blaney Agri to produce high performance affordable products in a highly competitive marketplace. Blaney’s acquisition of a highly experienced gear manufacturing plant in 2011 created the Blaney Gears division and further added to the group’s manufacturing capabilities and engineering expertise.

With all the synergies in place, and years of investment in R&D since 2004, Blaney are now ready to bring a focus back to Blaney Motor, to market a range of multipurpose compact vehicles for the agricultural and construction industry.

The launch of new product concepts at Balmoral Show forms part of the journey towards the creation of a significant number of jobs over the next few years.

The new multipurpose machines are specifically designed to be compact for manoeuvrability and mobility. Their size allows them to access hard to reach areas while their weight allows them to be transported under 3.5 ton. So if you’re involved in farming, plant hire, construction, equestrian, landscaping, amenities, road works or self-build, this could be the next thing on your wish list.

Sean Blaney, owner and chief engineer is delighted to launch Blaney Motor’s new vehicle concepts at Balmoral Show. You can visit Blaney Motors stand B3 at Balmoral Show 11th-13th May, where the new vehicle concepts will be on display, alongside the range of Quad-X ATV equipment and Blaney Agri tractor machinery.
