Gas to the West Project - Public consultation events
The project will see the delivery of natural gas to eight towns: Coalisland, Cookstown, Derrylin, Dungannon, Enniskillen, Magherafelt, Omagh and Strabane.
This project is being delivered by Mutual Energy and SGN, with an overall investment of £250 million into the local community.

Hide AdThe project is being supported by the Northern Ireland Executive with a contribution of £32 million.
A major and very important consideration in any strategic infrastructure project of this nature is stakeholder and community consultation and Gas to the West are therefore holding a number of public information events to engage with communities and provide an opportunity for interested individuals to ask questions and meet the project team.

Proposal: Extension of the gas network from Portadown to service the towns of Coalisland, Cookstown, Derrylin, Dungannon, Enniskillen, Magherafelt and Omagh including construction of approximately 80km of high pressure (HP) cross country transmission pipeline connected to the existing network; construction of approximately 100km of lower pressure (IP) gas mains primarily within the road network, linking the main (HP) network to the target towns; and construction of four pressure reduction saptations. The key purpose of these events is to present the preferred route for the pipeline and to hear the views of the community and other stakeholders.

Hide AdLocation: Lands comprise a broad route corridor between the towns of Portadown, Dungannon, Augher and Fivemiletown with development of the lower pressure pipeline in the road network connecting Dungannon, Coalisland, Cookstown and Magherafelt; between Augher and Omagh; and between Fivemiletown, Enniskillen and Derrylin.
