Yesterday UUP leader Steve Aiken told of his horror that the market - held every Sunday morning - was to go ahead, in spite of Government advice on social distancing in a bid to fight Covid 19.

He said: “The news that Nutts Corner Market is going ahead tomorrow is unbelievable-we are asking organisers, @ANBorough, @PSNIANDistrict to act now and stop this gross irresponsibility - do not attend”.

However this afternoon tier latest post says: “NUTTS CORNER SUNDAY MARKET IS NOW CLOSED UNTILL FURTHER NOTICE”.

In a Tweet DUP MLA Pam Cameron said: “Very disappointing that organisers have continued to go ahead with the Nutts Corner Sunday Market which often attracts thousands of visitors.

“Now is not the time for complacency. Our NHS, families & whole society rely on us all taking the right steps now. #StayHomeSaveLives”.
