Fat cows selling from €500/head to €1380/head at Raphoe Mart

Sheep sale, Monday 23rd November 2020: There was a good entry of sheep at Raphoe Mart this week with a strong trade for all stock on offer resulting in a near total clearance with lambs selling to a top price of €130.

Lambs sold at:

€80 to €90 for 28-32kgs.

€90 to €100 for 32-35kgs.

€100 to €110 for 35-41kgs.

€110 to €120 for 42-46kgs.

€120 to €130 for 47-58kgs.

Fat ewes sold from €70 to €140.

Cattle sale, Thursday 26th November 2020: There was a larger entry of stock for Thursday’s cattle sale.

Bidding was brisk from online buyers with all animals meeting a great trade.

Strong forward stores met strong demand amongst purchasers while lighter, plainer stock also saw a rise in price on last week.

Bulls/bullocks sold from €1.80/kg to €2.60/kg.

Heifers sold from €1.90/kg to €2.60/kg.

Fat cows sold from €500/head to €1380/head.

Top class bulls >600kgs €550 to €640 over the weight.

Beef bullocks >600kgs €760 to €780 over the weight.

Store bullocks 400-600kgs €350 to €815 over the weight.

Beef heifers >500kgs €450 to €755 over the weight.

Store heifers <=500kgs €350 to €885 over the weight.

A fatstock cattle show and sale will take place on Friday 4th December.

Sale commences at 12 noon.

A lamb show and sale will take place on Monday 7th December.
