Two more people have died with COVID-19 over the weekend and another 125 people have tested positive for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, according to the Department of Health.

An unscheduled meeting of the Stormont Executive has been called in response to rising Covid-19 cases. The health minister said that the rising number is “deeply concerning”.

The latest statistics now reveal that 1,014 have tested positive here in the last 7 days.

That also means that 9,466 have tested positive in NI.

According to the latest dashboard there have been two deaths over the weekend bringing the death toll to 577.

It reports that one death was on September 18 and the other on September 19.

A death took place in Newry, Mourne and Down on Friday and the second death took place in Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon on Saturday.

There are now 5 people fighting for their lives with COVID in ICU - and 33 people in hospital also with COVID-19.

And according to the dashboard there are now 30 active COVID cases in NI Care Homes - and 12 suspected cases of COVID-19.
