A PSNI station was closed on Thursday evening after three officers tested positive for Covid-19, the PSNI has confirmed.

Strand Road PSNI station in Londonderry was closed on Thursday to facilitate an enhanced clean.

“Following three officers testing positive for Covid-19, Strand Road station was closed on Thursday evening,” said a PSNI spokesperson.

“In line with public health guidance, appropriate steps were taken immediately to address the issue and a deep clean of the building and vehicles was carried out.

“The station has now re-opened and a number of other officers, identified as close contacts, are self-isolating.

“Service to the community was not interrupted as a result.
