Eight people with COVID-19 admitted to hospital in last 24 hours

NI recorded 319 new infections on Saturday September 26 but this figure was surpassed on Wednesday when the Department of Health reported 320 new infections had been identified in the last 24 hours.

The total number of individuals to test positive for COVID-19 in the last seven days now stands at 1,702.

There were no additional deaths recorded.

There are 59 individuals currently in hospital with COVID-19 - eight of which were admitted in the last 24 hours.

There are currently eight patients with COVID-19 in intensive care units throughout Northern Ireland - this is up from six on Monday.

There are 27 care homes with cases of COVID-19 - one fewer than what was reported on Monday.

There was also a decrease in the number of patients requiring ventilation - this went from 51 on Monday down to 48 on Tuesday.
