Nine additional Covid-19 related deaths recorded in 24 hours - one of the deceased was aged between 40 and 59

One of those to sadly pass away was aged between 40 and 59; three people were between 60 and 79 years-old and five people were 80 years-old or over.

Eight of the nine deaths occurred in the last 24 hours and one occurred outside this time frame but was recorded for the first time.

Seven of the deceased were male and two were female.

The nine deaths occurred in the following local government districts: Belfast City Council (three); Mid Ulster (two); Antrim and Newtownabbey (one); Derry City and Strabane (one); Antrim and Newtownabbey (one); Lisburn and Castlereagh (one) and Causeway Coast and Glens (one).

It takes the DoH Covid-19 death toll for Northern Ireland to 697.

The DoH also recorded its lowest number of new daily infections in weeks with 566 in the last 24 hours.

The number of people to test positive over the most recent seven day period is also down to 5,424.
