Emergency crews rush to help man who sustains serious injuries in fall - casualty rushed to NI hospital

A cyclist has been rushed to hospital after seriously injuring himself in the Portbradden area of Bushmills.

A spokesman for the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service said they received a 999 call at 13:47 on Sunday 29 November.

He added that the fall took place in an area of difficult terrain.

NIAS tasked the Charity Air Ambulance, with HEMS crew on board, to the incident.

Following assessment and initial treatment at the scene for what are believed to be a non-life-threatening injury to his leg, the patient was transported by Air Ambulance to Royal Victoria Hospital.
