17,000 suspected diazepam tablets seized in Belfast

Detectives have seized suspected class C drugs and arrested two people following a search in north Belfast.

The house was searched as part of what police dubbed “a pro-active operation” at a house at Amcomri Street at 11am on Thursday, police announced.

A man aged 33 and a woman aged 31 were arrested at the scene on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs.

The man was later released unconditionally, whilst the woman remains in police custody at time of writing.

About 17,000 suspected diazepam tablets, a small amount of Class B drugs and a quantity of cash were recovered.

A follow-up search hten took place in the Dunmurry area.
