The leader of the world’s Anglican community was in Belfast on Sunday for a service in the city’s Church of Ireland cathedral.

Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby appeared at a St Anne’s Cathedral service in tribute to the 50th anniversary of the Corrymeela Centre – a cross-community haven on the outskirts of Ballycastle.

He was joined by other faith leaders, and told those assembled in the cathedral: “The welcome of reconciliation confronts us with our own differences and our own failures, confronts the Other with the gap between us, and at the same time offers us a way of beginning to narrow that gap and of going forward together.”
