Around 1,000 properties without power amid snow and ice warning

Over 1,000 properties across Northern Ireland are without power this morning amid freezing temperatures, NIE Networks have reported.

One such power cut, reported in the cityside area of Londonderry, is affecting over 500 properties and has been put down to “severe weather conditions causing damage to the network.”

A yellow weather warning for snow and ice, issued by the Met Office, remains in place today until 6pm.
