Police searching for a man missing from Antrim Area Hospital since February 8 have found his body.
The body of 53-year-old Geoffrey Adams from Broughshane was found in the Steeple Road area of Antrim on Saturday.
The police said family members have been informed. “A formal identification and post-mortem examination has taken place,” a spokesman added. “Police are not treating the death as suspicious.”
Last night a spokeswoman for the Northern Trust said Mr Adams had been a patient of the hospital. She said an investigation will be carried out in the trust.
Last night mayor of Ballymena, DUP councillor Audrey Wales, said “everyone in the village is very saddened by what has happened”.
