Brief blast of summer sunshine before heavy showers

More heavy rain is on its way for Northern Ireland, according to the Met Office.

Whilst hopes were high for an Indian Summer, The Met office has issued a ‘Yellow Alert of Rain’ from tomorrow for the Province.

They say the heavy rain will come mid afternoon on Friday and last most of Saturday.

The Met Office says: “The settled spell will break down as an Atlantic low pressure system pushes in across the area. More than 60 mm could fall within 24 hours in places, though most parts are likely to have much less than this.“
