Craigavon based GCD Technologies has signed up some of Northern Ireland’s best-known third sector organisations for its new Chariteer, which is now being formally launched having been trialled and adopted by a number of leading local charities, including Fields of Life and Drop Inn.

The complete fundraising platform is the first of its kind available to third sector organisations in this market. It has been created to help charities not only manage their donors, but to meet a need for greater transparency and trust. By tracking donations through to how they are spent, the platform enables charities to communicate the impact that personal donations make to their cause.

The new product represents an investment of over £250,000 by GCD which has grown revenues by more than 65% in the past five years. As a result, the company is creating 12 new jobs in software development, marketing and customer services in addition to eight new positions being hired for this year.

The firm has worked with the third sector for more than 15 years, with clients including Concern Worldwide and Cash for Kids. It also counts private sector businesses like CDE Global and Fane Valley amongst its customers.

“There is a major gap in the market for a product of this kind,” said MD Andrew Gough.

“Not only does it provide charities with all the essential tools they need to manage a growing organisation, such as donor, campaign and donation management, but uniquely it connects charities much more closely with their donors. It enables them to build stronger relationships with them by keeping them informed about what the charity is doing and what the money they are donating is being used for.”
