Leading furniture retailer Harvey Norman is to move into a “significant unit” in Balmoral Plaza on Belfast’s Boucher Road according to commercial property firm CBRE, which acted as the lettings agent on behalf of the landlord.
The unit will undergo a major refit, which will see the addition of three concession as well as a 140-seat premium restaurant. It is anticipated that 15 new jobs will be created as a result of the move.
The letting to Harvey Norman marks another significant boost for the area, which is the number one out-of-town retail location in Northern Ireland and has become a hub for home retail for shoppers.
“We are delighted to have secured Harvey Norman as a tenant at Balmoral Plaza on behalf of the landlord,” said senior director, CBRE Retail Colin Mathewson.
“Boucher Road’s position as a premier retail destination has been driven by its critical mass and underpinned by excellent infrastructure locally.”
Blaine Callard, CEO Harvey Norman Ireland said: “The new store will still be luxurious, stylish, and ambitious in scale. This is best foot forward for Harvey Norman in Belfast and in line with our international brand.”
