SSE Airtricity is acquire 50 per cent of Fusion Heating Ltd., one of the leading energy services contractors in Northern Ireland.
Fusion Heating has been in business for over 10 years and employs almost 70 people working out of its base at Castlereagh, Co. Down, including gas engineers, plumbers, electricians and joiners.
Fusion works with both private and public sector customers to install, service and repair gas and oil central heating boilers and systems. The company also offers full domestic electrical contracting services, and is also involved in the supply and fit-out of bathrooms.
In 2013 Fusion Heating was selected to work as SSE Airtricity’s delivery partner for its growing SSE Airtricity Energy Services brand. The acquisition complements and enhances SSE Airtricity’s services in the competitive energy markets for home and business customers, and further cements the company’s position as a leading provider of energy services. The existing Fusion Heating management team will continue to lead the business.
“We are proud of our position as Northern Ireland’s leading provider of natural gas and the growth we have experienced since 2013 through our SSE Airtricity Energy Services brand,” said David Manning, director of Home Energy at SSE Airtricity.
“The experienced team at Fusion Heating has played an invaluable role in supporting that growth, and this acquisition by SSE Airtricity of 50 per cent of Fusion Heating demonstrates the strength of our partnership so far.” Those values will continue to underpin the way we work at SSE Airtricity and Fusion, as our two teams work together to grow our business in the years to come.”
Fusion Heating MD Bill Cherry said: “Having SSE Airtricity purchase shares in Fusion Heating makes sense for our staff and our customers.
“Through this new partnership we will develop new, distinctive and unique customer offerings, opening up huge growth possibilities for Fusion and for SSE Airtricity. We are very excited about the future and the potential for further growth.”
