A Magherafelt woman who was recently diagnosed with OCD decided to use the condition to her advantage and started up her own cleaning firm.

Diane Field, who hails from “a hard working family of cleaners” said when she was diagnosed with the condition it didn’t come as a surprise to those who knew her as “I was always tidying things”.

Inspired by her mother’s efforts to keep the house that she grew up in clean and tidy, she now promises to provide her customers with the attention to detail that comes from having OCD.

And if you sign up with Diane’s Home Cleaners within the next two weeks she is offering a reduced hourly rate.

“I was recently diagnosed with having OCD,” Diane told the Mail.

“This didn’t come as a surprise because all my life my friends would tell me I had it because I would always be tidying things. “I don’t see it as a negative thing,” she added, “I use it to my advantage and it gives me great attention to detail in everything I do.”

Diane’s Home Cleaners is a domestic cleaning company that not only caters for homes, but also businesses and landlords who might want an end of tenancy clean or anyone needing a spring clean.

She said her vetted, insured and CRB-checked cleaners will “provide the client with a service they can treasure”.

And that clients can have the same cleaner at the same time and day each week or fortnight.

“We know that when they walk through their door after our cleaner has been their home will look smell and feel wonderful,” Diane added.

And in order to do that Diane’s Home Cleaners are willing to do a range of work including hoovering, dusting, inside windows, oven, washing up, general tidying, hanging out washing, ironing, putting clothes away, polishing brass, woodwork, making beds, kitchen cupboards, fridge, mopping and light shopping or errands.
