Busy summer for Spa YFC gives way to winter programme
Spa Team 1 won the Co Down heats of Build It on June 8th. The team successfully built a bridge after plenty of laughs on the night, and went on to represent Co Down at the Omagh Show.
Spa YFC member Emma Rodgers competed in the Northern Ireland final of the home management competition and gained an amazing first place in the Junior Section on June 20th.

The Spa YFC junior and senior mixed football teams both came second in the Co Down football heats on June 20th with all members having a great night’s craic and some friendly rivalry when both Spa YFC senior teams had to play each other in the semi-finals.
Spa YFC also had success at the Northern Ireland stock judging finals, a massive congratulations to David Dodd who achieved an amazing first place in beef, sheep and fairy in the 25-30 age group. Lisa Burrows also gained first place in dairy in the 16-18 age group. In the sheep judging Danielle Connolly also came first in the 14-16 age group and James Carlisle came first in the 21-15 age group. A massive well done to all members that made it into the final and those that got placed.
The YFCU tag rugby finals were held on July 10th seen a Spa YFC junior and senior team head to Omagh. Both teams came second overall in tight finals.

This competition is always widely enjoyed by club members so it was great to have two teams reach the final.
The Co Down raft race which was held on July 27th was successful one for the Spa YFC junior team which came first.
The team included Conal Murray, Danielle Connolly, Matthew Cleland, Alex Cleland, Kirsty Burrows and Matthew Connor.

Spa YFC went on tour to Tullamore Show on August 14th for a club and community day out. This was a fantastic day out for everyone who went on Spa’s big bus trip and the club would like to thank everyone who came.
Spa’s first club meeting of their winter programme ‘An Introduction to Spa YFC’ on September 13th had a fantastic turn out of nearly 100 people and welcomed in 20 new faces.
It was a great night’s craic with lots of games and icebreakers played to introduce the new members to the club.
