The youngsters were on the roof of flats at Russell Drive in Lurgan and were snapped at around 6.30pm last night

Local DUP MLA Carla Lockhart posted a photograph on social media and said: “This is just crazy.”

She added: “I was sent this pic ... scary to think what could happen to these young people.

“Young people are climbing onto the roof of the nurses flats on Russell Drive ... PARENTS please take note and warn your kids about the dangers of this type of risk taking!!”

Police said they received a report of a concern for safety in the Russell Drive area of Lurgan at 7.10 pm on Thursday, March 28.

Inspector Gary Moore said: “We received a report that youths had been climbing on the roof of a property in the area on Thursday evening. Officers conducted a check and located a number of youths in the Russell Drive area, who were spoken to and subsequently moved on.

“The risk of climbing onto roofs goes without saying, anyone taking part in this sort of activity is risking their own safety and take up valuable police resources which could be better used to prevent and deter crime in your area.

“To parents and guardians, please help prevent young people from becoming involved, or caught up in these activities.

“If anyone in the area is concerned about anti-social behaviour, or any sort of criminal activity, please get in touch with us on the non-emergency number 101. It means we can respond appropriately. If it is an emergency, call 999.”
