Coronavirus NI: One person dies - 6 people test positive for virus - no patients fighting for lives in ICU

One more person has died with COVID-19 in Northern Ireland, bringing the death toll here to 551.

The latest person to lose their life with the virus died in the Mid and East Antrim council area.

The number of deaths in Northern Ireland can be divided into 261 women and 289 men.

In the last 24 hours another 6 people have tested positive for the virus.

It has been revealed that 328 of those who died with coronavirus died in hospital - 187 died in residential/care homes - 21 in the community - and 15 whose location was not recorded.

According to the latest dashboard the infections were detacted in:

Lisburn and Castlereagh council area (2)

Ards and North Down council area (1)

Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon council area (1)

Mid and East Antrim council area (1)

Newry, Mourne and Down council area (1)

Meanwhile a total of 5,757 positive tests for COVID-19 have been carried out in Northern Ireland.

There are no patients with coronavirus currently in ICU in Northern Ireland.

According to the dashboard there are now 33 suspected COVID-19 infections in NI Care Homes - and 16 suspected cases.
