Appeal for information after attempted armed robbery of delivery driver in early hours of morning

Police are appealing for witnesses following the report of an attempted armed robbery in the Ainsworth Drive area of north Belfast in the early hours of Tuesday 9th June.

Detective Sergeant O’Flaherty said: “At around 2.45am a delivery driver, aged in his 30’s, was approached by an unknown male who brandished a knife and demanded his car keys.

“The victim ran off and upon returning to his car a short while later witnessed the unknown male rummaging through his vehicle.

“It is not believed that anything has been taken.

“I would appeal to anyone who witnessed this incident, or anyone with dashcam footage, to call detectives in Musgrave on the non-emergency number 101 quoting reference number 1327 09/06/20, or submit a report online using our non-emergency reporting form via http://www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
