Attempted murder charge after Newry shooting

A 26-year-old man is expected to appear at Newry Magistrates Court on Monday charged with two counts of attempted murder, kidnapping, possession of a firearm with intent to commit an indictable offence and various driving offences.

The charge is related to the shooting of two men - both aged 32-years - in the leg in Newry between Wednesday night, September 16 and Thursday morning, September 17.

Three men - aged 20-years, 27-years and 29-years - arrested in connection with the same incident have been released on bail pending further inquiries.
