Attempted robbery, north Belfast


A female staff member in a north Belfast off licence has refused to hand over money to an armed robbery.

The attempted robbery happened in a Shore Road shop today just after 1.30pm.

A PSNI spokesman said the female staff member “challenged the man who made off towards Grey’s Lane on foot, empty handed”.

The attempted robber is described as being around 5ft 11ins and thin. He was wearing a red hooded top pulled around his face, blue jeans and trainers.

Detective Sergeant Kenneth Leckey has appealed for anyone who has any information about the incident to contact CID in Tennant Street on 101.
