A baby has died after being found in a car during one of the hottest days of the year in the Republic of Ireland.
The seven-month-old girl was “unresponsive” when discovered in the vehicle in Dundrum village in Co Tipperary at around 1.45pm on Thursday.
It is reported she was the only child of a local couple.
Temperatures in the area were reportedly in the 20s during the day.
The little girl was taken to a local sports field by paramedics where she was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick.
But despite their best efforts, medics were unable to revive her and she was pronounced dead shortly after 5pm.
The incident is being treated as a tragedy.
Gardai are investigating.
