Bookmakers robbed with hammer

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery of a bookmakers on the Grosvenor Road in West Belfast last night.

Around 8.50pm a man carrying a hammer entered the premises and threatened members of staff before making off with a sum of cash. He was wearing a grey hooded top, grey tracksuit bottoms with a scarf covering his face. No staff were injured.

Police are appealing for information or witnesses to contact detectives in Musgrave Police Station on the non-emergency number 101 or anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
