Two men who broke into a house in Belfast’s university area and who were disturbed by the occupant were jailed yesterday.

Lee McCracken, 23, from Ardoyne Road and 22-year old Carl Robert Stirling, whose address was given as HMP Maghaberry, were both given a 30-month sentence after they admitted burglary last summer. Belfast Crown Court heard the pair broke into the house on Ulsterville Avenue early on June 2 – but were disturbed by a student who lived in the house and who struggled with them.
