Cross agency operation seizes €1m of cocaine in Dublin


A joint operation between two organisations in the Republic has resulted in the seizure of a significant amount of cocaine in Dublin.

In an intelligence-led operation between the Irish Revenue and Garda Drugs and Organised Crime Bureau on Saturday approximately 15kgs of cocaine with an estimated street value of over €1m was seized in Dublin.

The seizure was made following the interception of an haulage vehicle that had just arrived at Dublin Port from the UK.

During the course of the joint operation, a 36 year old Irish male was arrested and charged for drug trafficking offences and is being held at Store Street Garda Station. He will appear in the Courts of Criminal Justice on tomorrow morning.
