Dogs and pups die in Fermanagh fire

Seven dogs and six pups have died after a fire at a shed in Co Fermanagh.

Police are investigating the fire which broke out at the premises in the Drumcor Road area of Clabby on April 18.

Chief Inspector Graham Dodds said police received a report of the fire at 8.15pm. He said investigations were ongoing to establish if the fire was started deliberately or not.

“This incident is currently being linked to a suspicious object being found in the Clabby Road area on Friday 17 April which turned out to be nothing untoward,” he said.

“To ensure the protection of the public, there will be increased police patrols in the area. I would ask anyone with any information on this to contact Enniskillen Police Staton on the non emergencynumber 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
