Four police officers have been injured during the pursuit of a stolen car in west Belfast.

Two teenagers - aged 19-years and 16-years - have been this morning charged with 6 counts of aggravated vehicle taking after the January 8 incident.

And the 19-year-old male has also been charged with driving while disqualified and using a motor vehicle without insurance.

They are expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court tomorrow morning,

The pair had been arrested after police spotted a suspected stolen Seat vehicle in the Caffrey Avenue area which had been reported stolen in a creeper style burglary in Bladon Drive in south Belfast shortly after 10pm on Friday.

The car collided with a police vehicle before making off along the Glen Road in west Belfast and onto Whiterock Road where it collided with a second police vehicle.

The car stopped in Whiterock Close and the two occupants then made off on foot.

Officers on the ground, with the assistance of the police helicopter, arrested the suspects a short time later.
