A trio of burglaries in the Lisburn and Moira areas has seen a number of large items stolen.

In the first of the three incidents which occurred overnight between Wednesday and Thursday, generators, transformers and welding equipment were stolen from a building site near to Sprucefield park-and-ride.

In the second incident, workers at a building site on Brokerstown Road, to the west of Lisburn, reported break-ins to newly-built houses. Gas boilers were stolen.

In the third incident, a garage connected to commercial premises at Meadow Road in Moira was entered, and a power washer and child’s quad bike were stolen.

Detective Inspector Martin Cummings said “large vehicles would have been needed to move these items and we are appealing for anyone who saw such a vehicle near any of these areas at strange times of the day, possibly even overnight, to contact us”.

Police can be reached by dialling 101, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
