House in Ardoyne is set alight

The police are investigating an arson attack on Saturday in north Belfast.

Shortly before 4am, police received a report of the blaze.

Detectives believe someone broke into the house and deliberately set it on fire.

The blaze completely destroyed the property, they added.

There were no reports of any injuries.

The fire happened on Alliance Avenue in the Ardoyne.

The road adjoins Jamaica Street, where two adults and a baby girl were caught in a serious blaze at their home on Thursday night.

Police said investigations into the Jamaica Street fire were still ongoing as of Saturday, mid-afternoon, adding that they are not linking the two blazes.
