Police claimed Steven Moore used the app to broadcast damage being caused to doors, a wall and other belongings at the property in Ahoghill, Co Antrim.

The 37-year-old defendant also threatened to kill the woman’s mother in a phone call, a judge was told.

He then apparently fled to the Repubic of Ireland before returning and handing himself in.

Moore, of Rathlin Drive, Ballyloughan, Ballymena, is charged with criminal damage, threats to kill, harassment, improper use of a public communications network and breaching a non-molestation order.

Antrim Magistrates’ Court, sitting in Belfast, heard he posted a Snapchat video on June 30, stating that he was going to his ex-partner’s home “to see the kids”.

The woman remembered she had left her the house unlocked and returned to discover a broken basket had been kicked down the stairs, according to police.

She went inside and noticed items thrown about the hallway, along with damage to a wall and bedroom and bathroom doors.

A PSNI constable said: “She later received shared video footage of the defendant entering her house and causing damage.

“It appears that he had shared it live via Snapchat video.”

Moore, who was prohibited from going near the woman’s home, also allegedly made a number of abusive and threatening phone calls to her mother.

“Police made numerous efforts to locate the defendant, but it appears that he fled to the Republic,” the constable added.

He was eventually arrested at a PSNI station in Belfast on Monday.

Defence counsel Michael Boyd confirmed Moore had made full admissions during interviews.

“He’s conducted himself in a half-decent manner since he decided to put his hands up,” the barrister said.

But refusing bail, District Judge George Conner remanded Moore in custody for four weeks.

Mr Conner ruled: “At this stage I don’t have any confidence that he would stay away from this woman.”
