Man charged after incident in which laser was shone at police helicopter

A man has been charged after an incident in which a laser was shone at the PSNI helicopter.

A PSNI spokesperson said: “A 33 year old man has been charged with endangering the safety of an aircraft.

“He is expected to appear before Belfast Magistrates Court on 8 January 2021.

“As is normal procedure, the charges will be reviewed by the PPS.”

It is understood the charges are in connection with an incident in Belfast on Sunday evening when a laser was shone at the Police aircraft.
