Man charged over McErlain murder in Ballycastle

Detectives investigating the death of a Anthony McErlain in Ballycastle have charged a 33-year-old man with murder.

Mr McErlain’s body was discovered at a house in Broomberg View in the north Antrim town around 8.30pm on Thursday.

The 48-year-old suffered a “traumatic and frightening death,” police said.

The suspect is due in court in Coleraine on Monday morning.

A 50-year-old man arrested by the PSNI remains in custody.
