Man charged with murder

Police investigating the murder of Antrim woman Pauline Carmichael recovered a body from the shore of Lough Neagh.

A man, aged 37, is due to appear in court on Friday morning accused of killing Pauline Carmichael.

He is expected to appear in Coleraine Magistrates’ Court.

Police had previously been granted extra time to question a 37-year-old who was being held over the murder.

On Thursday, the police said that a body found on the shore of Lough Neagh in the Antrim area the previous day had been formally identified as 61-year-old Ms Carmichael.
