A 24-year-old man who was arrested after a car careered into a crowd of people at Falcon Road in Belfast has been released on bail pending further police inquiries.

This morning six people are still being treated in hospital for injuries after the collision - two in a critical condition.

The other four are in a stable condition in the Royal Victoria Hospital.

The collision happened when a television crew was filming a reconstruction for a crime show in the area at the time of the crash.

The incident happened in the area of Apollo Road and Falcon Road, just off Boucher Road.

The Northern Ireland Ambulance Service (NIAS) was called to the incident at about 8.30pm.

Last night a spokesman said: “It was reported that a car had careered into a group of people.”

A quick response paramedic was quickly on the scene and declared the situation to be a major incident.
