A man has been remanded in custody charged with hijacking a car in Belfast last year.

Anthony Brady, 22, is also accused of aggravated vehicle taking causing damage to the Peugeot 208.

The alleged offences are connected to the seizure of a woman’s car in the Talbot Street area of the city on November 24, 2014.

At the time it was reported that she had been threatened with knives by up to three people.

Brady, of no fixed address, is understood to have been arrested on the day of the alleged hijacking but released on police bail pending further inquiries.

He appeared before Belfast Magistrates’ Court to face both charges against him.

No application for fresh bail was made during the brief hearing.

Brady was remanded into custody to appear again in court later this month.
