A man has made off with a sum of money following a robbery in Portadown.
The incident took place on shortly before 9pm on Thursday when the masked robber, brandishing a bag suggesting it contained a weapon, entered the service station on the Dobbin Road and demanded cash.
The man is described as being in his 30s, 5’10” tall, of slim build with dark hair. He was wearing a dark baseball cap, black fleece, dark blue jeans and dark gloves.
Detective Constable Paul Murphy said: “I am appealing for anyone with information or who may have seen this male in the area last night (Thursday) to get in touch with detectives in Lurgan by calling the non-emergency number 101.
“I would like to make a particular appeal to a female jogger who passed by the forecourt of the service station just minutes before the robbery.
“She was running from the Portadown direction towards Armagh and it is possible she may have seen something that could assist the investigation. We are keen to hear from her or anyone else who was in the area at the time.”
D/Constable Murphy added: “If someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details they can contact the Crimestoppers charity on 0800 555 111.”
