Police are appealing for information in tracking down a number of men involved in a burglary at a house in Doagh, Co Antrim.
Officers responded to an emergency call of suspicious activity around 7.35pm on Thursday.
On arrival at the scene, officers found the house unoccupied as the 80-year-old owner had been staying with relatives.
It was discovered that entry had been gained through a small window and rooms had been ransacked, although it is not yet clear if anything was stolen.
It is believed a black, three-door Mercedes car may have been involved in the incident, as men were seen leaving the scene in a vehicle fitting that description.
Anyone who was on the Ballymena Road in Doagh between 7pm and 7.40pm and saw or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact Newtownabbey police on the non-emergency number 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
