Murder probe launched after man’s body found in boot of car in Belfast

Police have launched a murder inquiry after a man’s body was found in the boot of a car in south Belfast.

The discovery was made in the Windsor Road area on Sunday morning.

A man and a woman, both aged in their 20s, have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Investigators are also examining a scene at the Church Gate apartments in the Mill Street area of Comber as part of their inquiries.

Detective Chief Inspector John McVea: “I appeal to anyone who was in or around the Church Gate Studios late last night (Saturday) or earlier this morning and heard a disturbance or noted any suspicious activity to contact detectives at Newtownards on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”

SDLP councillor Declan Boyle, appealed for the public to support the PSNI investigation, and added: “The entire community is in shock. I would like to express my sympathy to the family of this young man as they come to terms with this sudden loss.”
