Ulster Unionist candidate for North Belfast, Robert Foster, has condemned a shooting which took place last night in Bawnmore Drive.
The incident comes just two days after Friday’s security alert in North Belfast.
A man escaped injury when two shots were fired at a home at Bawnmore drive just before 9pm on Sunday. Anyone with information has been asked to contact police.
Robert Foster said: “Actions such as these are not welcome in this community and have no support from the residents of North Belfast. An atmosphere of fear and intimidation should not be allowed to prevail.
“The people of North Belfast want to move beyond these vile attacks and focus on prospering the community through education, housing and improving the health care system.
“Luckily no one was injured during this incident and I thank the dedicated work of the Police Service of Northern Ireland in addressing the situation.
“I would urge anyone with information to contact the PSNI on 101 or anonymously by contacting Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
