NI road closed following discovery of 'suspicious object'

A main road in a NI town has bene closed this afternoon following the discovery of a suspicious object.

A PSNI spokesman said the object was found on Hanover Street in Portadown.

The spokesman said diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
