A man and woman are to stand trial later this year, charged with murdering a man whose remains were found in a wheelie bin.

Stephen Thomas Hughes, 29, and 25-year-old Shaunean Boyle are both accused of murdering Owen Creaney on a date between July 3 and July 6, 2014.

Boyle, from Edenderry Park in Banbridge, appeared in Belfast Crown Court today. When she was charged with murdering Mr Creaney, she replied: “Not guilty.”

Co-accused Hughes, whose address was given as HMP Maghaberry and who is from Craigavon, appeared in court in February of this year when he also denied the murder charge.

The beaten body of the 40-year-old victim, from Lurgan, was discovered in a wheelie bin in Craigavon following a tip-off to police.

The case is due to be reviewed again in June, ahead of a trial which is expected to commence in September.
