Paramilitary-style shooting in west Belfast

A 26-year-old man has been shot in both ankles in a paramilitary-style shooting in west Belfast.

The shooting happened in the Downfine Gardens area around 8.40pm on June 17.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries which are not believed to be life threatening.

Detective Sergeant Melanie McGrory said: “I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact Reactive and Organised Crime at Musgrave Police Station on the non emergency number 101. Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.
