Two elderly women sustained cuts and bruises after they were knocked to the ground during a street robbery in Belfast.

The women were approached by the men who grabbed their handbags containing cash in the Downshire Park Central area of Belfast at 1.30pm on September 15.

A PSNI spokesman said the women were knocked to the ground when trying to resist the robbers, who made off on foot before getting into a silver coloured mini parked nearby. Witnesses to the robbery are asked to contact Detectives at Reactive and Organised Crime Bangor on 101.
