Police say they are treating a broken window in north Belfast as a racist hate crime.

The incident took place yesterday morning in the loyalist Mountcollyer Avenue area of the city on Thursday morning, police said.

Inspector Roy Watton said: “Police received a report at approximately 7.40am that the rear living room window of a property in the Mountcollyer Avenue area had been broken.

“If anyone has any information on this please contact police in north Belfast on the non-emergency number 101 or anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
