PSNI used stop and search on 25,195 people in Northern Ireland last year during lockdown - here’s what you need to know

We may have been staying indoors more than often but it didn’t stop thousands of people being stopped and searched across Belfast City last year

Official figures from the Police Service of Northern Ireland shows that more than 25,000 people were stopped and searched during 2020 – a rate of 13 per 1,000 people.

Despite Covid restrictions this was a 5% decrease in comparison to 2019’s figures.
