Road closures as PSNI examine site of Crossmaglen explosion

Roads have been closed around the site of a Crossmaglen explosion which caused serious injuries to a man on Wednesday.

The man had been caught in the explosion as he tried to remove a poster from a lamppost outside Crossmaglen.

Sinn Fein MP Conor Murphy described the incident as attempted murder.

The Blaney Road has been closed from the junction of Loughross Road to the Irish border.

A 200m stretch of Corliss Road is also closed, from its junction with the Blaney Road.

Insp Lorraine Dobson said: “Police are working to deal with the risk to the public whilst minimising disruption where possible and are grateful for the continued co-operation of the public.”
